St. Mary’s avenue was the scene of an at- tempted burglary Saturday night, and the hardware establishment of F. B. Bonnievell, No. 1605, was the place selected for the oper- ation. The burglars succceded in cutting around the lock of the rear entrance but were disturbed by the night watchman, and decamped. They left behind a well-used brace and a brand-new bit. These are now in the hands of the police.
