The cause of the on was an article published in an ng paper purporting to be an interview en a reporter and Mayor Broatch Some of the remarks put in the mouth of that city official reflected considerably on Mr. Lowry as chairman of the committee on grades and grading. This raised the iro of the councilman, but he did not get a chance to square matters with the Mayor until about 2 o'clock yesterday after noon. ~ He found _the mayor _at that time at his desk and asked him to step across tho hall iuto the gas inspector's office. Adams of Ovd, who states that he has ost five head of e tle, one of them a valuable animal from some cattle disease which he cannot fathom. In writing to_the commission he describes the symptoms by stating that the cattle get_dull and spiritless lying down often and, in at- tempting to walk, fall blowiag and frothing, Mr. Adams has had a post mortem examina tion made of some of the cattle but it throws littlo light on the trouble.
