John Hansen, a carpenter who resides near tho shot tower, was held up Tuesday night opposite the brick yards on South Thirteenth street and robbed of his watch, overcoat, $16 inmoncy and o kitof tools. He was way- laid and assaulted by three men, who wore handkerchiefs with eye holes cut in them over their faces, and not content with rob- bing him, one of the miscreants struck him a cruel blow in the face. The first warning he had of his dan ger, was a man before him with a leveled re- voiver, He was commanded to hold up his hands, and instantly obeyed, as two other figures had now joined the first.
