COntcaco, Oct. 2.9—[Special Telegram to the Ber.]—The first impulse of the wheat market this morning was slightly upward and there was plenty of business, but the promise of the first hour was not fulfilled and the greater part of the session saw a dull and spiritiess market, with prices dropping quite steadily, the princal cause therefor be- ing the usual Saturday ‘‘evening-up" pro- cesson the part of local traders, coupled with a aearth of business from the outside. The openfng was a little below the closing prices of yesterday afternoon, with Decem- ber at 78%c and May at 79}e. Early trading was in quite large volume, with buying largely concentrated in a few houses, among which exporters were prominents, although the biggest blocks were taken by local specu- lators. The selling was scattered and much of it by smaller room traders, who were dis- posing of long wheat in quantities that were not large for each individual, but were con- siderable in the Ivk‘l’cknlo From the open- The Parnell Club—A Tin Wedding— A Surprise Party—General Soclal News.
