The you n&cr McMenamy discharged him and foreibly ejected-him from his buggy. For this arris wrote threatening Jetters and in- timated that he would sue for damages. He also wrote letters threatening to do various things if Dr. McMenamy would not pay him some money, the demands varying from $25 to ) Dr. McMenamy, who had no fears of any so-called exposures, finally had him_ ar- rested, and Tuesday he was examined before Justice Reed, who held him for trial in the district court. The whole statement of Harris appears to be a tissue of falsehoods, according to information obtained from Dr. Me- Menamy, who thinks he is not exactly in his right mind. The younger McMen- amy, who is Dr. McMenamy’sadvertising agent, has not skipped the country, hav- ing no occasion whatever to do so. McMenamy received his medical education at the Columbia Medical Col- lege, New York city, at Belleyue Medical gol! ese and at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of [owa, and he is so regis- tered in the county clerk’s office of this county, where anybody can investigate for himself. He never had anything to do with the “ American Eclectic Institute’ of Cincinnati, and knows nothing about it. Dr. McMenamy umrloys fourteen expert attendants in his Omaha Medical institute, and his standing professionall is not questioned except by some physi- cians who, following out the strict line of medical ethics, are opposed to nnK doctor who advertises, even thougl it is legitimately and decently done. There is nothing to be exposed about his medical institute in this city, and as to Dr. McMenamy's standing financially there is no question. He has a large in- vestment in Omaha, and has a cash ac- count at the Omaha National bank which some men would consider a com- fortable fortune. ———— Dr. S. R. HARVEST HOME EXCURSIONS, Many People Come to Omaha From Points in the East—The Mc- Menamy-Harris Ca Happen- ings About the C Roys' Escapade. Last winter, the advent of a Cyclopian wrestler named Moth to this city, brought Into prominence an Omaha athlete, named Adolph Roys, or, as his name was then spelled, Adolph Royce. Moth had issued a blatant challenge, and a certain nassociation in the city put forward Royce, who succeeded, although not so heavy as his opponent, in preventing him from winning his bet. Since then at times, Roys has becn an artist in the studio of Heyn, the Fifteenth street photographer. He has apparently shunned notoriety, but now it is again thrust upon him in an undesirable man- ner. Last Satarday night he left the city, telling different persons that he was going to San Diego, S8t. Paul and Den- ver. He had hardly disappeared when an army of creditors sought but failed to find him. It has since developed that simultancously with Roys’ disappearance took place that of a young woman of this city, the daughter of a well-known voterinary surgeon. _ At present the in- dications™ are that Roys and the young womuan have gone together, with the result of abandoning a wife who 15 now in a delicate condition.
