The city clection is to take place one week from to-day, and at that time there is to be clected an alderman at large, an al- derman from the Third ward and one from the Fourth ward, The terms of Aldermen Bennett, Stfaub and Shugart It understood that none of these gentlemen will agree to run again, They vositively decline, and while it is desirable 1o re them on many ac counts, still there are reasons why it may be best to fill the ¢ ith new men. W. Peregoy have the sympathy of this community, the death of their little daughter Bessie having come with so little warning and with such crushing sorrow. She was aged eleven years and six months, and was in apparent health and usual vigor until last day night.
