The opera house was crowded to its utmost capacity at the matinee of the “Naiad Queen,” yesterday, and sgain lust eveuning. 1t seems that the public cannot see enough of these wonderful peeps at fairy land. The remarkable suceess of this entertainment is without a parallel in the history of local enter- tainments, The enthusiasm has been in- creasing from the opening night, and the rush for seats kept up to the yery finish. It is worthy of note that on two days this week every seat in the house has been purchased at Mr. Bushnell's, leaving no seat to be sold at the box office. Nover before in the history of the opera house has this happened. Generally there are at least a few seats to be hail when the diagram is taken from Bushnell's store to box oftice. Yesterday afternoon there was a serious breuk in the entertainment by the in- ability of Mrs. Wadsworth to continue her part as the queen. Her part is u diflicult one, and the tax upon her strength and voice has been rmn. Yeos terday she was wearied and ill, but she endeavored to earry out her part, rather than disappoint the audience. In the middle of the performanco, she found herself unable to proceed, and the man- agement had to substitute as best it could, There has been such a demand for a repetition of the “Nuiad Queen,” and such a feeling that there should be ognition of the seryices of Profes: Sumuel Milieur, that the citizons have jowed in anging for a benelit to be tendered to him next Tuesday evening. The profice has been accepted so that Tuesday will be the last opportunity for secing this wonderful opera. Further of the Suicide, MALVERN, Feb 19.—Your issue of yes- terday morning contained what was sup- posed to be some further informatlon re- garding the stranger who committed suicide here Thursday morning, which 1 find the facts brought out by the coroner's inquest do not justify. Although con- versing with a number of friends he there ‘was nothing in the stranger’s tions to leave the impression that his mind was unbalanced. The letter referred to as having been found on the body was written in German, a8 was a por- tion of the address on the envelopes, which read as follows: Thos, Trion (in English), Sabrook (in German), no state being given. From this letter it was ascertained that the suicide’s name was Jacob Trion, (as read by one of our Ger- man citizens), and also that he had a wife and children, not mvnuumnx the num- per, in l’.-urm I1l.; that he was making u confession to bis brother of having committed some terribie crime that w ing upon his nmind; that he (u\li\l not go home as his wife would not love him as she had once done; that he must die, and requesting that the brother keep from his family his terrible act, ete. He wore a pair of gray black cout and vest, rubber N nd medium overcon eap; was dark comple and appar: ently about forty-five years of age. Three gashies had been made in the right wrist with a sharp instrument, apparently few hours before suiciding, s though he had attempted his life in that way, Al- ugh no one saw the tragedy, it now ms evident that after purehasing the revolver he went directly to the depot and, sitting upon the platform, unbut- toned his vest and deliberately pla the revolver to breast and, firing the fatal shot, fell backwards where b .hu od in sbout fifteen minutes. 4, 2 e Tl “Crazy Patch."
