The rotary snaw plow which the Union wsed a short time agn on trind has proven an entire success. It is now doing yeoman service on the Idaho division where for the t few weeks heavy snows have prevailed, Careful experiments show that this plow can clear the track of snow trom four to six feet deep, at the rate of twenty miles an hour. The old-style plows could not be shove a speed higher than cight or ten miles an hour, and would cven then be very often stalled, especiaily when the snow was atall sticky. Miss Tressie Beckert who lives at 1109 North Nineteenth street, was the victim of an accident Tuesday afternoon which most luckily did not prove fatal. She was drawing water from an unenclosed well at the rear of her residence, when her fect slipved, She fell to the bottom, a depth of twenty-two feet, but by cling- ing to the sides of the well saved herself from drowning.
