Some in other parts of the city object to this, not beeause they object to a umon depot, for they favor it, but they atl want to have the depot lo- cated vight near their own prope As the union depot cannot be located next to everybody’s lot, some must concede some things, It is quite evident that the southern part of the city, for the right of way to the very center of the city would cost so much as to render the proje practible. The most weighty obj raised thus far against granting the re quest of these heavy business houses, is the question of settling the damages of property owners along the avenue. There is little improved property affected by it, d this, it is thought, can be adjusted isfactory mann; It is claimed \long the avenue will be in purposes Li“ ater price than it now brings for denee purposes. An attempt is b made to change the proposed route somewhat, 5o as to avoid injury to some of the property, the owners of which are s0 earnest in their protest.
