The signal service reports the storm center at or near Chicago. In the upper Mississippi valley, lower Missouri and lake regions the weather is generally cloudy and rainy. Elsewhere it is generally fair Du ing the last twenty-four hours consid- erable raln has fallen in the whole north- west, To-day’s receipts are 132 cars of wheat, 876 cars of corn and 151 of oats. T'rad- ing was moderately active with sellers pre- dominating. Oueof the dullestthings intown durinz the first hour of the session was the wheat pit. There were a few scatter- ing orders in it for a “fiver” now and then, but the bulk of trading was for small scalp- ers. All the fluctuations were within qe. Corn was not mueh more active, the entire movement being between 38%¢ and 383c for November. The provision crowd made a regular foot-ball out of pork. They opened October at $90.471, advanced it to 0. pounded it to $0.571, and let it go up again 10 80,424, But around 11 o’clock things beeame very lively. From 743 @i4%ic there was a recovery to 74' , but the close was heavy and not a little dul The foot-ball performances were done away with in pork after the first hour's trad- ing and the October option settled down very aronnd $9.45 Packers did about al trading and toward the. close very little interest centered in the market. From 33%c up to 33%c and back again to 889, marked the range in corn. Trading in fl s was quite liberal but was entirely local. e prediction of frost generally through the ‘flt to-morrow helped the buying some. Bchwartz, Dupee & Co., who were big seilers of wheat, were also larie sellers of corn. It 18 expected that there will be 725 cars of corn in to-morrow. ‘Wheat was a little firmer on the afternoon bn-\l’d and advanced to But this lnll’m‘ closed at Bold up to 38%,¢, closinz at Bige. ldvnll(ed 'y ('lusmg at $10, T November corn Mess pork for January, on November and 5% @isige; Nov- 4e.
