The game was a pretty one and played in earnest from start to finish, Bandle, Dwyer and Jones slugged the s re for three runs in the first inning and held the visitors down to two scores. The second inning showed a goose egy for each nine. Tne home team were left out in the third and fourth innings, Dwyer sooring by a hard hit and fine base-run ning in the fifth. The visitors scored three runs in the third, loaving the scor 5 to 4 in their favor until the eighth in when, by a run of luck on art, and an two by the home team, erossed seven men giving them an advantage that the home team could not hope to overcome. Mention has already been made in the Bee of the mdignation of friends over the hasty disposition of the remains of Lena Votter, who died at the Star house on Harney street a few days ngo, after a brief illness. The charge has since been made by parties in a position to. kmow that the hasty burial of the woor girl for the purpose of mm-mlnw fucts connected with the causes of her death that it would not be well to make public. The girl had been working at tho City hotel for some time. A few days ago, on Wednesday, she was taken sick and removed by the proprietor to a boarding house near by where she died on Thursday night.
