As in wheat, there w strong undertone to the market, but no_indi vidual large trading. October was 44%c at the opening, and in the first hour had sold up 0 447, @45 “The trading in the provision pit was mod- erately large at the opening. C. H. Adams and Higgins & Gilbert bought a little Sep- tem ber pork, and Wells, the Botsford Pack ing company, and the Chicago Packing & Provision company sold. But the decline, if such it could be called, was easily regained. ‘The tenor of the private cables from Eng- lana was that the English were feeling rather better on account of the improved weather, and were disposed to sell, while the French were getting more e xcited and in- clined to increase their purchases. Clear- ances from the Atlantic seaboard, as re- ported this morning, show an outward move- ment yesterday of over six hundred thousand bushels.
