The movement was rather active and salesmen felt that the week’s market was opening favorably for them. Some cattle sold at §4.50 averaging less than 1,200 pounds, but some 1,186 pound steers sold Saturday at $4.75. Four cars of 20 pound steers sold to an exporter at £5.10. Prices were generally 25¢ higher than one week ago to-day. Shippers bought more cattle last week than in any week but one during the year, and to-day they were not buying quite so freely. The cattle, however, were all sold. Shippinz steers, 850 to 1,500 vounds, §3.50@5.10. Range cattle offerings to-day were moderate and_the demand fairl good. Ouly two lots of Wyoming rangers were here, They were comparatively thin and sold at §5.50@5.60. The $3,5 lot, all put two cars of the tops, o into a distillery, The 560 lot sold the otlier day at Omaha. While prices here have been low, th ave been fully up to other markets. The run of range catile has eommenced and & more active market is anticipated. The receipts of hogs have been much lighter the past week than during the week previous, there ing only 5100 hogs in last week. The market closed on Saturday about 20¢ stronger than the opening price on Monday. The light re- ceipts have had a tendency o force prices up. Cattle—The receipts of range cattle yester- day and to-day were heavier than on any ous day of the season. The market was ve. Values continue steady. Hogs- e receipts of hogs have fallen off very suddenly, and there were not enough in to make a market to-day. The demand is good and the packers are unable to get enough o keep them going.
