The call for $10,000,000, which will mature Sep- tember 15, was made beeausa it was deemed wise and expedient, Future calls will be de- termined by the state of the finances. While it is probable that a second call for $10,000,- 000 in bonds may be maae next month, such action will depend entirely upon the condi- tion of the treasury at the time. Warpath, NTINE, Nebid August 14.—([Special Telegram to the Bik.]—There has been great excitement here to-day over reported Indian depredations. A dispateh was received here at 2 a. w. from Johntown to General Brisbin asking that troeps be sent at once as fifty arwed Indians, some thirty wiles south of that place were robbing houses, stealing, threatening murder and attempting outrage on women. General Brisbiuat once sent Lieutenant Stevens to investigate. He failed 10 cateh the eastern express, but was fortun- ate to secure an engine from the westbound train and at once went to the scene of the reported outrage. SoNEY, Neb., August 14.—[Special Tele- gram to the BEE.|—Our town was startled this morning by the news that F. L. Flower, & prominent merchant here, had either been murdered or committed suicide last night at his residence. Coroner Patterson repaired to the scene and immediately impanneled a jury. The evidence proved conclusively that Flower, while under the Influence of liquor, had been swinging his pistol around pro- miscuously and it was suddenly discharged, the bullet passing under his chin, througi his mouth, and thence to the back of his head. He died instantly, His wife and hired man were setting on the porch during the ocen r rence. Flower recently bought A J. liss Kell's stock of merchandise and was éxpect ing his father from England to advance him funds for the final settlement.
