THE CENSUS COMPLETED, Oomparative City Oirculation of Omaha Daily Newspapers. KEEP And Let Them Profit By a Careful Study of the Solid Facts Proven by Figures. A careful and thorongh canvass of the city of Omaha enables us to present a ry liable exhibit of the relative city cireula tions of the Omaha dailies by carrier de livory and newsdealers. Such verified by indisputable cannot fail to prove instructive gestive to Omaha business men and ad- vertising patrons generally. The fa and figures embodied in this exhibit com pletely dispel all fiction as to local cireu Jations, and place the advertiser in posi tion to select the medium that will give the largest returns for his outlay. The fact that the Brk haa by far the largest circulation has long ago been admitted by ybody, Sworn statements of the general and local circulation of the Beg have been published from time to time, and for several months such exhibits have appeared at the head of our editorial columns. This is now supplemented by a detailed showing of our bona fide ci subscription through carrier delive; which forms the is upon which news papers must stand as mediums for re ing the people. Side by side the figures that represent onr home circulation appear ealso the number of Omaha dailies that circulate in the same torritory, divided into carrier routes. In conjunction with the comparative census by carrier routes, we present the street numbers on several leading thoroughfares, showing at which houses the various daily papers are delivered by carriers. We could, if we had the space, produce similar exhibits for every street 1n the city. Many of them would make a more favorable showing for the BEE than those presented. In fact therc are quite a number of streets on which no ollle}- paper than the BEE is circulated by carrier. This newspaper census was taken be. tween the 25th of June and the 16th ot July. Whatever variations there might be in circulation by carrier delivery ise chiefly from change of resi- But this variation would not uly change the grand total of cir- culation of any Omaha newspaper one way or the other. In computing the aggregate city oircu- Iations of Omaha dailies we have omitted sales over the office counter and by news- boys. These sales vary from 500 to 800 daily for the Beg, and similar sales by other papers will bear about the ratio to the BEE as docs their carrier delivery. Taking the average for the BEE at 600 per day, tho Herald's av- erage, including Sunday, would not ex- ceed 150, that of the Republican and World about 12| 5cx\ch.
