Of course, more women than m are thus affected, but when & man i superstitious coward he's more abject and determined in itthan a woman. We cail this the almanac seakon of the year because at this time the almanac has much more influence than it will have later on. Like diarics, good resolutions and other new vear thiggs, the belief in the unlucky character’ of these days gradually peters out with most people, though it clings to a_few throughout the year. These alleged unlucky days are selected arbitrarily ot at random by the almanac make who ought to have sense enough to leave suych things out of their books.
