Judge Brewer Made a Decision in the Slettnische ve, Latta Oase, Sus. taining the Judgment, Very little business of any importanse was {ransacted in the United States cir- coit ¢ urc yesterdsy. Judge Brewer ar- rived yesterday mornlng, and during the day he doelivered one opinion. That was in the case cf Slottuische vs. Latta, brought to set aslde a judgement for $3.600, This eecms t> bo a very funny Itigation. In the lower court Mrs. Latta secured judgment agalnst Slett- nlsche, for the amount named on a note made by him to her. He clalmed that the note was made in 1874, but 1t is dated 1884, In a contract mide wlth this woman, he s'ates that he is worth, over and above all liabilities, at least §10,000. Soon after making that contract he en- tered into another with his owa wife, (which was Introduced as evidence) in which he declares that he ls financtally away down at the heel. She ogrees to support him and the family, and also to glve him $60, then $60 a month, and finslly $1€0. Judge Brewer sustalned the judgment. In the district court yes'erday the cases of Ida Wade va.
