Approved. Adjourned until the first Monday in April, THE MISSING MULES. One of Them Found on the Strects Here Yesterday. As already made public in Tue Bee, John Filzoer, who has a farm near this city, had & pairof mules and some other property stolen about three weeks ago, in rather a pecullar manner, A man named Ed. Burdick, who geined some no- toriety by making charges against some of the plice, claiming that in arresting him they stole soma of hls money, has also the reputation of being a shrewd horse-trader., Mr. Fitzoer clalms that he had an old democrat wagon which he palnted up, and was golng to trade with a preacher near Cresent City for a three-year-old colt, Burdlck was to complete the trade for him, and ke let Burdick take the team of mules to pull the wagon out to the preacher’s. Burdick, not having any overcoat, Fitzner lant him his. He heard nothing more of Burdlck, the wagon, the mules, or the overcoat until about a week 8go, when he heard that a man named Brown, who had gone with Burdick on the trip, had come back here, got Bur- dick's family and furnlture and gone to Nebraska, expecting to join Burdick there. It was soon afterward learned that Burdick had been trading off Fltz- ner’s property In Omaha, Yesterday a man glving hia name as G. H. Hunt was driving through the streets here a pair of mules attached to a lum- ber wagon, and having another team of mules following behind. One of these mules was recognized as one of the team belonging to Fitzner, and the man was at once stopped and {Interrogated. He clalmed that he bad traded in Omahs, and thus get the mule. He claimed that he had been farming in Nebraska, and was now Intending to go to Atlantlc, to work there with his teams. Replevin papers were at once taken out and the mule taken legal possession of. Hunt says he will now take steps to get back the pony mare which he swapped for the mule. The officers are also anxlous to get hold of the man Burdick, who, from theee reports, seems to be de- cidedly crooked in his actions, Dr. 8.
