On his trial yesterday he was placed under bonds of 8100 to here- aftor pursue the journey of life in peace, but up to a late hour yesterday he had been unable to give the required bond, and was still incarcerated in the city pen. He promises to leave the town within 24hours if once mere given his freedom. Yesterday morning & man named Kes- terson, living in Nebraska, about twenty miles from Omaha, boarded a street car on Broadway in company with a friend, and noticing a watch hanging to the rail- ing on the rear end of the car, he, (K2s- torson), immediately appropriated the time.-pieco and stowed it away n his vest pocket without making any inquiry as to who was the probable owner. Shortly afterward the driver of the street car dis- covered that his watch was missing, and being told by a friend that one of the two men mentioned probably had his proper- ty, he asked Kesterson's companion if he had it, and receiv- ed a negative reply, and notwithstanding the man knew whero The work of placing the curbing on North Main street is progressing rapldly and will be completed by the middle of next woek.
