And certainly no grander work than this of ministering to the poor and destitute and providing a house where orphan children can be cared for and given a Christian education could be conceived of. Mr. Garman is a business man by nature and added to this has a thorough business education, together with large experionce, fore he moved to our city he had been engaged in business for himself. Since here, for nearly three years, he has been cugaged in tho mercantilo establish- ment of James Porterfield. Some of his decorations of the store and display windows upon gala days have never been supassed in our city. Mr. Garman hu's resigned his position with Mr. Porterfield, to take effect the 1Gth of this month, when he will enter actively upon the duties of secretary and treasurer of the Home association.” The association expects about that time to commence the publication of a small Home paper, and of this he will be business manager.
