Officer Makes Capture and Gets Another "urlr) Another Reward, Ata late hour Thursday night a man named Bailoy had a two-seated carriage and team at the beer garden, and while with some friends inside getting a glass drove the team off headquarters of beer someone Bailoy came to the police fatrly flying on a pony he had borrowed from a friend, and awakened the deputy- mershal, who advised to hunt up some of the policemen on the street Bailey said he had looked for one coming down, but had seen none. The doputy marshal told him that if he couldn’t find the police, the police would find him, if he went out on Broadway and acted drunk, yelled, eote. Clark sounded the alarm andfthe department turned out, but no streams were needed, Charlie Nicholson putting out the blaze. Those who have examined the situation of the buildings, and the details of the affair are of the opinion that it was the work of some in- cendiary. A littlo earlier tn tho night an attempt was made to burn D, Maltby's barn, by setting fire to some hay and cobs at one corner of the building, One of the men in 8, H. Craver's livery stable. on Ban- croft street, had occasion to go up to see about a horse which was loose in the barn, and noticed the smell of fire, and going outside found the flames at the corner of Mr. Maltby's barn wore blazinyg up brisk- ly. He called Mr. Craver to his help, and together they put out the blaze, There have been several of theso fires within a few waeks, least, thoro has boen tho very strongest evidonce of incendiarism, and this leads to the conclusion that there are some firebugs who are bent on mischief.
