Deputy Sheriff Lewis J. Moore was here yesterday and filed an iuformation before Justice Schurz charging Armstrong with being a fugitive from justice. Thisinformation sets forth that while Armstrong was in the employ of Minter & Burgess he embizzled at Lewis, Rill county, Mo., in October last, the sum of §64 and that an indictment was found by the grand jury last month charging him with embezzlement. Armstrong claims to have had a mis- understanding with the firm about his salary, and when he left their employ there was some dispute about the balance. H. admits making the collection of the 854, but says he has offered to settle and is still willing to settle. He proposed yesterday to pay over the whole amount but it scems that something more is wanted. He has a letter of recommend. His friends seem civil courts.
