Ju and his band have been committing vartous depredations for some time past, and a fow ago went to tho ranches of Jefe Politico, of Oaltona, and Don Juan, of Oanddi- rio, and stole many head of sheep and cattle, They also visited the ranches of other cltizens and drove off man more, Jefe Politico and other suf- ferers gathered a band of about thirty men and started after tho Indiana. They came upon them before they kuow Ju and his band were anywhere near. They were immedistely sur- rounded by the Indians in Arayo, aud Politico, as soon as he eaw the num- ber of the band, which was over 200, dispatohed one of his men for assist- auce, who managed to escape, arriving at Galliano. He got together about 70 men and started at once for the scene, Ju sent out a party who enpaged in & fight with him, proventing them from joining Politico. The rescuers saw the slaughter, but could do nothing for their unfortgnato friends. Kvery ono of the pursuing party, with the exception of one man who went for succor, was butchered by tho savages. They then rotreated to Sierra Madre.
