Although the game was advertised to be called at 3:30, crowds of people began com- ing to the grounds atone o'clock. Before 3 o'clock there were by actual count over three thoueand people on the ground. The crowds coutinued to come until after 4 o’clock, when it was estimated that there were between four and five thousand people present, which proves that base ball in Omaha is not dead, but has only been aslecp, Our citizens have finally awakened to the fact that Omaha has in the Union Pacific nine not only the champion amateur nine in the west, but a nine which will make a fair showing with any professional nino now in the Dia- mond. The game was calleq promptly at half-past three with the Dreadnaush's to bat, which resulted in Fox (short- stop) making a ecore, which despite their u'most effrts could not be re- peated during the game, Bets before the eame were decided- Iy m favor of the Chi es, bat after the second ioning 5 to | were offered in favor of the U.
