The Senatorial Duel. Araxy, N. Y., May 26—4 p, m.— The report cireulated by “half-breed: of & quarrel between Senators Conk- ling and Arthur, is especially denied by Speaker Sharpe. Gen Senator Conkling and Governor Cor- nell all agree, and Conkling and Arthur are in perfect accord. The conviction is _growing that Comnell and Depew will be the half breed nominees. Cornell is work- ing hard for Conkling and has brought all the pressure of the Gubernational oftice to_bear upon the Malcontents and doubtful te compel them to act in Conkling’s behalf. Conkling says the attempt to make Cornell a candidate simply indicates the nature of the compro the half breeds are willing to and scouts the report of Cornell plicity.
