Panis, March 11—1 s. 2.—When the alarm wes given that. the maga- zin du Printemps was burning, the firemen did what they could with the engines at their dispoeal, but all we3 useloss. The flames spread with frightful rapidity, and within three ‘hours Printemps i¢elf was a complete wreck. At 9:30 the fire had extend- od to adjolning houses in Rue de Province, and was threatening those in Rue de Coumatin and on. the boule- vard Haussmsnn. Two .steam fire engines and a few pipes were at work. The whole inside of the store was burnt. Every few minutes a wall fell in with an ominous crash, to the peril of the firemen and soldiers on duty.
