HIISTORY OF AN GLD CWIME REVIVED. “In this ccnoection we desire td refer to the last deliberate miirdér committed in Council Bluffs. If we have beeh correctly informed the murder of Monday night has been the only cold-blooded, de'iberate one, the evidenoes, of which have been been clesrly established, since 1848 or 1849. In ome or the other of those yoars, as many old citiz:ns remember, an emigrsrt, going west with another, murdered his traveling companion in cold blood, while halting in our city, and took 8 sum of money he knew the other to have in his possession. But the mur- derer was met by swift and righteous ratribution, as he was hanged in Glen- dale by a vigilance committee. For yesrs after, the soene of the double tragedy was known as “Hang Hollow.” The marderer, be- fore his capture, hid his ill-gotten wealth under a stump on the hill-side near the head of “Irish Hollow,” and it was aftervards unearthed by a workingman who advertised the dis- covery, according to law, and then became owner of the money. This case,we believe, was the Inst deliberate and premediated murder committed in-Council Biuffa until-last Monday night. Misses’, Boys' and Children’s Calf Bhoes, Anew stock just received at H.
