This was their second ap- pesrance in public, and each time they acquitted themselves in such a way as to elicit the praise of every one who had the good fortune to bein attendance. When the curtain parted for the firat time it rovealed to the audience the intclligent face of Mirs Maggie Richarde, who recited in a clear, forci- ble maoner a short poem prepared for the occasion, setting forth the origin, purpose aud success of the sociey, which was organized about one year go, with only five or six members, and it now numbers thirty, and a group of more intelli- sent, cheerful boys and girls would be tard to find.
