The Presidential Party Arrive in Omaha, Teke in the Town, and Leave for the West, At 830 yesterday the special train of the C., B. & Q, with Presi- dent Hayes snd party on bosrd, rived at the Tenth street depot this city, having at the request of Mr. Clark been run over the bridge. It will be remembered that the C., B. & Q. train which took Gen. Thero were a few citizens at the Council Bluffs depot, but there was no cheer- ing and the train pulled out as quietly a3 if the passage through of the “Lozds of the Land” was an every day affair to the Bluffers. On the way to the tranefer, however, Gen. Sherman plucked the president by the sleeve and said ““Look! Look!” They all Jooked of course, and there wasa crowd with a canncn monnted on wheels which they were dragging down to Spoon Lake to salute Pres- ident Hayes with. The last seon of the cannon it was mud, had wore l eticking ia Towa At the transfer a small crowd assenbled and proparations made to give the ’| party a grand roception with speeches and brass band accompauiment, but by order of Mr. D. W. Hitcheock, who was in charge of ths train, it was rua around the Trauster house and across to Omaha without stopping. Hal? an hour later the ora- tors, braes baed and recegtion ocommittee arrived with the ci:y editor of the Noupareil, and a cloud of blue smok aud flime, emitting a sulphur- oas odor, has hovered over that local- ity, and etill the blasphemy goes on. At this side a number of army am- bulsnces and “catriazes were in wait- ing, into which the party stepped at nco and drove out to Fort Omaha.
