Selectmen Henry J. Bessette, Louls Gendron and Peter J. Chabot, together with Treasurer William H. Butaas, represented the town in the issue of the bonds and the arrangements for the bids, over which the Hartford-Connestis cut Trust Co. had supervision, giving ita certificate. Interest is payablet in the bank May 1 and November 1 of each year up to November 1, 1952. The bank is making a speclalty of imsuing and certifying town and municipal bonds and is obtaining better prices, it s belleved, than are obtained through operaticas ia Boston. The town of Plainfield had a grand list in 1921 of $5,873,000. Its total bonded debt, including this issue, i& $180,000, Town notes and orders $175,000 are to be pald from the pro- ceeds of the issue.
