Chief Justice George W. Wheeler pre- sided and prayer was offered by Arch- deacon J. Eldred Brown at the opening of the court. The first case to be argued was on the construction of the will of the late Samuel Beit of this city, who left an estate of $29,728.02. He bequeathed $5,- 000 to his thirteen year old daughter, Alta, to be paid at her marriage and left the cash residue to the four soms. There were also provisions about the wife having the income from the real estate an the will raised many ques- tions as to its interpretation which—the supreme court is asked to rule on. At- torneys in the case are C. W. Cassidy for the executor, W. S. Allis, V.-P. A. Quinn and H. H. Pettis for the beneficiaries. The second case argued was an peal taken by the state tax commission- er, William H. Blodgett, Mae Cadwell Hayward and Philip Morgan Plant from the decision of Judge Allyn L.
