This musical comedy has proved a decided success, full Gf musie, comedy and dancing and furnisbes plenty of fun. There was nothing Marion Rogers would have done less willingly than the pro- moting of the affair between Cameron West and Diana Spaulding, yet through ‘®n error of intuition that is exactly what she unwittingly managed to do. The strange tangle of human affairs was greatly complicated by the infatuation of Diana for Granville Wingate and of Win- gate for Marion. The story is told in “The Vice of Fools” by Francis. It has been visualized by Vitagkaph from the scenario of Graham Baker, with Alice Joyce in the steilar role, and will be shown at Strand theatre for the last time today. Willism Hodge in “Beware of Dogs™ Advices from Hartford, Springfield and Providence, where the new play has already been seen, indicate that William Hodge's comedy, “Bewars of Dogs!” in which th_estar erill appear(at the Davie theatre, Wednesday evening, May 11, ie a type of entertainment radically different from anything in which has been seen. “Beware of Doga!" was written by Mr. Hodge, and has its scenes all laid in the country. It tells the amusing and amazing adventuras which befall & young city chap forced by circumstances to conduct a boardjug place for dogs. The situation is complicated and much 3¢ thy fun grows out of the fact that he knows absolutely nothing about dogs. Lee Shubert, under whose personal di- rection Mr. Hodge continues, has provid- ed an excellent cast including Ann Davis, Mary Lawton, Lucille La_Verne, Marion Vantine, Helen Salinger, George W. Bar« bier, Leighton Stark, Harold Heaton, Louis Barclay, Philip Dunning, ete. DAVIS THEATEE. Bebs Daniels, starring in She Couldst Help It, which is the current featurs al the Davis theatre, has the role of a giri whose natural ability to draw clever sketches and caricatures is amusingly woven into the plot. It happens that in deal life Misg Daniels is as clever with her pencil as the heroine of this plece was' supposed to be, and 5o herself made all the skeiches meedéd in the action of the play. A beautiful tea room of the famous Ritz in Parie is reproduced in Biiila Burke's new Paramount picture, The Frisky Mrs. Johnson, which will be the second feature. The set was constructed at enormous expense and adds greatly to the value of the production. Not an architectural detzil of this immenso set was overiooked and to add to the realism of the scene, many stags beauties were employed to take part in the action. The costumes worn by thesa women on this occasion are beautiful and will be relished by every woman who sees the picture. A news weekiy concludes the pre- gram. “Mary™ to Visit Norwich Again Tn compliance with the insistent demand of local theatregoers, championed by the management of the Davis theatre, Geo. M.
