Joseph T. Murphy, representative in the Rwode Island general assembly from the first Westerly district died suddenly Fri- day morning in his office on Canal street. Death was due to heart disease following an attack of acute indigestion, it was announced by Medical Examiner Michael H. Seanlon. Mr. Murphy was born in Stenington, April 25, 1 and with his parents, moved to Westerly in 1884, and received he greater part of hie early education in the Waesterly schools. Later he attended the business college in Poughekepsie, N. In an endeavor to prove that the pills introduced at court, were the ones that the doctor had prescribed, the following witnesses were called in rapid succession, Miss Elva Plympton, Attorney Clarence Roche, Prof. Frank Strickland, Dr. J. D. Barber, Miss Susie Leshler, R. N., and | Myron Plympton.
