In the. aftérnoon the session Wwill be devot- éd to the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society, with Mrs. John B. Peck, presid- ing. Mrs. W. N. Ferguson of South In- dia will address the meeting, as will Mrs. A E. 8. Jones and Mrs. Frank L. Wilkins. The amnual fair of Washington Coun- ty Agricultural Society opened at Kings- ton, Tuesday, with not as large an at- téendance as the attractions warranted. The éxhibits are more numerous and varied than ever before and include al- most everything known in connection with a fair of this nature. As Secretary Clarke previously stated, the Kingston fair is bigger better than ever before. The midway is in operation in full force and the efficient police patrol have a weather-eye to the windward to see that no skin games are played on the ground. The games are all known to the initiated and those_who desire to get into the in- ner circle are expected to pay the price. There is scarcely anything ever seen at a fair that is missing at Kingston and besides there are exhibits and attrac- tions that are entirely new. Even the vaudeville is of the highest order and in tull keeping with the Test of the annual event of Kingston, An unfortunate accident oceurrsd on the grounds Tuesday morning when the new Avro, owned by the Colonial Air Service company of Westerly, was dis- abled. Not through any fault of the operator or the machine, but to a hole in the ground at the landing fleld; not a depression of the earth but a hole about four inches wide and eighteen inches deep. The Avro had returned from a successful flight, the first of the day, and on landing, just before the operator was to bring the machine to a stop, one of the tires dropped into this hole, held the Avro and the machine nosed into the ground. Some of the frame work under- neath the engine was broken, but there was no damage to the engine or working parts. Another version of the accident is that oneé of the wheels got caught in a woodchuck hole, the other wheel be- ing thrown against a mound, causing the nose of the machine to hit the ground. The damage to the Avro is not of a serious nature, and will be readily repaired. In_addition to the fine vaudeville show the horse racing was the feature of the afternoon. The first event wag the 2.25 pace for $250 purse. There were six en- tries and four starters, Juffres, b g, Horace Thompson West Kingston, and Billy Flight, John O. Fox, Putnam, be- ing withdrawn.
