JEWETT CITY The Ladies’ society of the Congrega- tional church held a Christmus fair in the v ‘Wednesday and evening, under the direction of Mrs. Charles D. Wolfe. The vestry was gay with Chris red and white streamer c eries, arid hemlock boughs, and a huge Chirstmas stocki: pended in the folding doorway. Miss Gladys Jefters was in charge of the decorations and was assisted by the Misses Sadie, IDithel and Be Thempsen, Alice Blair, and Isabel Marshall. The Cafeteria lunch and | food sale counter was conducted by Mrs. B, A, Faust. Mrs. Edw. Gallup Mrs, Walter Marshall, Mrs. S. R. Wa ters and Miss F. H. P_Clement. The goodies on sale were displayed amid the faney decorations back of the countér, 'The menu included baked Dbeans, salad, escalloped potato, sand- wiches, pie. cake, coffee, tea and ice gream, The apron table was in chargé of Mrs. Norman Parkhurst and Mrs. Alex McNicol.
