The first shipment of government surplus food arrived in Norwich on Saturday and is now in the hands of Mayor J. J. Desmond. This shipment is part of the surplus war food pur- chased by local people through the mayor ané is now ready for distribu- tion. Mayor Desmond said Sunday that those people who submitted their lists first may get their orders by calling at his office at No. 40 Shetuck- et_street.
