R T T P COMMUNITY SING IS PLAN FOR FOURTH OF JULY In conjunetion with the band concert at Union square on the evening of the Fourth of July, the amusement com- mittee has invited the War Camp Community service to take charge of the programme of singing for the ev- ening. The plan now is to have a community sing which will bring the people together for a truly democratic celebration of the consumation .of peace. Every singing club and church choir is invited to participate. Every school child in the town of Norwich should be permitted to take an active part in the return of peace celebration. Professor C. D. Geer has been en- gaged to lead and direct the singing feature of the programme. It is expect- ed that fully five thousand voices will give vent to the joy of the occasion. Fourth of July this year will have double significance as a national hol- jday. This year, and hereafter, it will be celebrated as an International Day. Hereafter its will not only be cele- brated commemorating the birth of our nation but commemorating the saving of democracy to the world. It is anticipated by the committee that most mercantile and industrial establishments will take part in being represented by groups of singers, each group to display a banner bearing an original slogan. The War Camp Community Service will provide free song sheets and the Boy Scouts h volunteered their services i aking the distribution. The invitation is for everybody, big and little, old and young, to come to Union square at 7.30 p July 4th, as they never in g e.
