BREED THEATRE. Today starts the fourth year of the Breed theatre under the present man- agement, and in view of this fact Man- ager Zuckerman has carefully selected a bill for the entire anniversary week Which will prove an excptional treat 16F all lovers of good motion pictures. It is the standard which this popular playhouse will set for the coming sea- s6n and after witnessing the week’s program you will certainly agree that the “pick of pictures” will be seen at tlie’ Breed theatre. Today and Tues- day's bill will be headed by beautiful Olive Thomas, the “baby vamp,” in a plcturization of the famous comedy by Fanny and Frederick Hatton, Upstairs and Down. As a stage play this pro- duction was successfully presented on Broadway and on the road and in the picture form it has just recently played | a guccessful engagement at the Strand theatre in New York, where it met with decided approval of both press and public. The picture is bright and sparkling and alive with delightful nonsense and s played with wonderful spirit and vim by Miss Thomas and a splendid cast. The original dialogue is presented in the subtitles, which is re- sponsible for continual roars of laugh- ter.and contribute in no small degree towards maintaining the crisp, farcial atmosphere of the pla It is a super production in every sense of the world. For the second feature Violet Palmer, a charming screen actress, will be seen i the new World picture, Ginger. Co- starred with her are Garreth Hughes and Paul Everton. It is only on rare occasions that a motion picture exhibitor is privileged f6 make so important an announce- ment as that which it is our privilege to make herein, namely, that Fred Stone, the celebrated comedian in mu- sical comedies, will appear in his new Arteraft photoplay, Johnny Get Your Gun, at our theatre today and omor- row. This is a charming story of an athletic western cowboy who becomes a motion picture actor and who later is involved in a series of thrilling epi- sodes in which he saves a lovely girl froem a fortune hunting count and him- self finds love. Mr. Stone Is an acro- bat as well as comedian, and it is said many of the athletic feats per- formed by him in Johnny Get Your Gun are remarkable. The second feature on this bill is Louise Glaum in A Law Unto Herself, a six-part dramatic picture, the big- gest and most sympathetic of her screen career. Those who have seen this clever actress only in vampire roles will have a pleasant surprise awaiting them in A Law Unto Herself. Burton Holmes Travelogue. You look into his eye and are thrilled. Some women have this power, but in a horse it is extra- ordinary—one of the things that make “Sunrise” the most extraordinary horse extant. In all the world there is none so. beautiful. And why should he not be 80? “Sunrise” inherits royal quali- ties. TREATY OF 1917 BETWEEN ITALY AND ENTENTE POWERS Rome, Saturday, June 21.—The Times points out in its issue of this afternoon that the details of the sec- ret treaty of Saint Jean de Maurienne of August, 1917, between Italy and the entente powers, has generally been Norwich | forgotten because it was overshadow- ed by the treaty of London, but t nevertheless it is most important considering Italy's position. “The treaty of Saint Jean de Mauri- enne,” says the paper, “gave Smyrna to Italy, on condition ‘that the agree- ment should be ratified hy the Rus- n government.
