NORWICH BULLETIN, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 1919 ASHLAND DEFEATS WILLIMANTIC, 37-24 Thursday night's game of basketball in the Bijou at Jewett Ci while it was fast at times, was not interesting as usual. Barry as always starred for Ashland, getting 10 bas- kets. Benjamin also played a good game for the home team. Ashland clearly outclassed her opponents passing the ball almost at will. Tues day night Ashland plays Fort Wrigh in the second game of a three-gamc series. Pickett starred for Williman- tic, getting a number of difficult shots from the center of the hall, caging in all eight baskets. The preliminary game was rather exciting, Barry's team clearly outclassing the second team. The feature of the game was the excellent sparring done by Liberty and Derda, Barry's team winning by 10 to 6. The score for the big game A:hland. Barry to Willimantic.
