DOLLAR DAY IN NORWICH For Eastern Connecticut On Saturday, February 15th What could possibly be more gladdening to the people! of Eastern Connecticut than the announcement that, on Saturday, February 15th, practically all of the merchants of iNorwich will again unite in holding another Norwich Dollar | Day? yAs a merchandising event, Dollar Day has been increas- ingly successful in Norwich from the standpoint of both the Ibuyer and the merchant. The big reason why Dollar Day!§ {has been a strong winner here is found in the attitude of the Norwich merchants towards it. They have made it a real| I merchandising event, with genuine bargains as the keynote. | They have kept in the foreground the idea that Dollar day in { Norwich should be a day of opportunities for sound invest- ment on the part of their customers, and for this reason | § Dollar day customers in Norwich have come to look for real | bargains and real investment opportunities. Every shopper has the satisfaction of knowing that his purchase i merchant goes along with the goods. | A Variety of Items for a Dollar If we may judge from the character of the goods which the merchants are offering, Norwich Dollar day will be an loccasion of unique value-giving. Everything which men, women, sons and daughters and children need can be pur chased at advatageous prices. i The primary idea of a Dollar day is, of course, to feature | | that it is confined |each. A great many stores will group together newly received | | articles, such as three with a standard selling price of 50| cents a piece, or several of a dissimilar sort that can be| grouped under the dollar requirement. Then again the| dealers in wearing apparel for men and women, likewise the | dealers in shoes, will offer goods at drastic reductions, feat-| uring the principle of a deliar off or possibly several dollars| off. Any multiple of the dollar can be used in the same way| and still comply with the spirit of the day. And thus the| Dollar day event will not only be a bargain carnival of small-| | er articles but reaches out to include wearing apparel of all| kinds as well as many of the larger articles for household | use. 60c Rubber Gloves, THE PORTEOUS & MITCHELL Co.
