Montagu Love in Masterly Delinea- ion of Famous Man—Appears as Belgium’s World-Famous Cardinal in New World-Picture Brady-Made. “The Cross Bearer.” Montagu Love, the famous star of ‘Worid-Pictures Brady-Made, is star- red in_the mew World-Picture, “The Cross- Bearer,” which tells the remark- able story of Cardinal Mercier, the worll-famous Beigian prelate, who has stood up so sturdily for the rights of his countrymen against the aggres- sioms of the German oppressors. The story tells of the love story of the Cardin's ward and of the way that the Cardinal protects her. Ex- Ntement abounds in this picture and it is a splendid view of the terrific hardships suffered by the Belgians and of ‘the heroic efforts made by the Car- dinal to_alleviate their sufferings. The Cross-Bearer” will be the su- per-attraction on today at the Au- ditorium theatre and the management of #is theatre unhesimtingly recom- mends this masterly production to the patrons of this playhouse. The lavish scale on which “The Cross Bearer” has been staged, is one of the notable features connected with it. The interior -of the = Cathedral where the Cardinal repulses the Ger- man horde, is a huge structure es- pecially erected for the purpose of filming this picture. Throughout the whole production expenss has not been spared in making it the very best ever. '8 DAVIS THEATRE. New Show Today—Two Big Super- Features, Dorothy Dalton The Kaiser’s Shadow, and J. Barney Sherry in “High Stakes,” Also the Latest Current Events. Derotby Dalton the beautiful accomplished young Thomas H star, will appear in a mystery plav, “The Kaisers Shadow.” at the Davis theatre Thursday, Friday and Satur- day. It is a production that. because of its timeliness and the genuinely thrilling plot, is certain to appeal to every variety of audience. Miss Dal- ton in the new role of a French secret service operative has a part that fits personality. She is ably support- ed hy Thurston Pall, Edward Cecil, Leota Lorrame, Otto Hoffman and Charles Fren: The photoplay is deeply mysterious in its development and the puzzle is not unravelled until the final scene. Other features on this programme are J. Barney Sherry the _popular Triangle favorite male star in “High Stakes” a five part unusual drama and Current Events, the very latest issue. in and Ince BREED THEATRE. Emily Stevens, in the Great Broad- way Success, A Man's World, Fea- ture For Today. Is it “A Man's World” or a wo- man's? The subject is debatable. How one woman tries to prove that the world is a woman's as well as a man's is shown in strong scenes in “A Man's World " a Metro All-Star series version of Rachel Crother's powerful Broadway play, which is the feature attraction 2t the Breed theatre to- day. Fmily Stevens is the star of this dramatic screen drama, which is bound to cause much discussion among the local theatre-goers. Other pictlres on the bill include Pearl White in “The House of Hate,” the continued phetoplay with a thrill every minute Chester Conklin in “Tt Pays to Exer- cise” a new two-part Mack Sennett comedy and the famous Burton Holmes travel serie: PUTNAM CHAUTAUQUA.
