Twe Big Features Today and Satur- day—Marguerite Clark in “Rich Man, Poor Man,” and Mae Murray in “Face Value/ . double futurc bm headed by 'dl.rguente Clark in “Rich_Man, Poor Man,” will be seen at the Breed thea- ter today and Saturday. This is a_ splendid scfeen subject, filled with tense dramatic situations by the aid of which an absorbing dramatic story is developed. It is one of the best photoplays that. Miss Clark has been seen in, and ,is one that her many admirers will want to witness. The second feature of this bill is Mae Murray in “Face Value,” Miss Murray is the original of the “Nell Brinkiey Girl,” swho has become famed in news- paper drawings and fashion etchir‘?& Miss Murray made ‘her own selection of “Face Value,” and as she is prop- erly -qualified to know the style of photoplay that would best suit her varied talents you may logically ex- pect to see something of wnusual in- teerst in the presentalion of “Face Value.” The latest war news in the Hearst- Pathe weekly will complete the bill for, today and Saturday. AT THE AUDITORIUM. The Last and Best Show of the En- gagement. “Nonsense Outdone,” by Sidney Rogers, is a real musical comedy gem, with a clean story and legitimate com- edy. There is no “broken ” or slap stick in its makeup, and sparkles with witty sayings. and lilting music, the chorus numbers being specially com- mendable, both in costumes and quali- ty. Sidney Rogers as Issy Cohen, shows this comedian to be'an artist of rare itv, and his work deserves full dit to the success of the offering. Manager Ed. Connelly at short notice jumped back in the lime light in splen- did form, taking the part assayed by Eill Jennings, who through sudden ill- was prevented from appearing. . Connelly’s work showed plainly the real professional and his rendering “Its A Long Way Back to Mother’s Knee,” and the ‘‘Red Cross Nurse,” were charming. . Mr. Connelly has a rich tenor voice, anc that is powerfyl and always un- der:.control. His singing was a rare to his many friends and ad- receiving numerous encores. Connelly will assume Mr. Jen- nings part for the balance of the weck. Pegey Carroll, the dashing anfd win- some Auditorium favorite, made her usual hit, her singing and dancing numbers being well received. The pret- ¥ chorus did their best and helped to put over the play in fine shape. “Nensense Outdone,” ed today and tomorrow. The picture feature, Nell Shipman and Alfred Whitman, in the “Girl Be- vond” is a beautiful screen offering. Ic -has a true-to-life ring and a sus- taiming story from start to finish. The Sunshine comedy, ‘His Neighbor's Key Hole,” proved to be a laugh produc- er of the first magnitude and the Pathe skit, “Let's Go,” with Harold Llovd, was equally entertaining. Next week n Loring, a Norwich favorite, and his big singing company will open a week’s engagement, chang- ing bills Monday, Wednesday and Fri- day. No advance in box office prices. Several new screen sensations are promised. P CANTERBURY GREEN Patriotic Rally Next Sunday After- noon—Graduating Exercises of Town Schools—Club Gardens Inspected.
