Rev. Edward Barrow and choir of the A. M. E, Zion c¢hurch had charge of the Sunday afterneon service at the Sheitering ‘Arms. Rey. M Barrow took for his subject Christ's words, Ye shall be witnesses unto Me in Je- rusalem and in all Judea and in Sa- maria and unto the uttermost part of the carth, and said, - Confessing Christ was the distinct note in the be- rinning of the church, it meant perse- cution. Confessing Christ is' the' fore- runner of witnessing. It is witnessing alone which has results. it is a high task, it means that we are acquaint- ed with Christ, we are explaining Him. It is not an easy task to have faith in the darkness, to HKave faith as the world is today, yet Christian soldiers are witnessing for Christ. lnfla.mzdand&u. WOMAN’S CHORUS Spring Program at Slater Hall Monday The Woman's chorus of the Norwich Music assoefation is preparing some very pleasing musical numbers for its concert next Monday night. The se- lections are, for the most part, spring- time music, but by no means monot- onously alike because of that. On:the contrary, there is a gregt variety of style and feeling in the list of three lnd‘r part choruses to be presented. is a fanciful and dainty little three Part sonz with soprano obligato, ‘The Belfry Warden's Daughter, Rein- thaler, two Tschaikowsky numbers, The Message, with its exquisite lilting air, like the breath of a summer morn- ing. and Nature and Love, the music of which is as satisfying to the ear as | the love of nature, which the words extal, is to the spirit, Dew in Spring, Rubinstein. a charming love song, and The Syrens. Gilchrist, a larger work of more dramatic character, with most interesting harmonies: a very beauti- ful four part chorus with orchestral accompaniment. This concert is a regular meeting of the Norwich Music association, there- foré members of the assoeiation will Be admitied on presenting membership cards.
