Snsoybs Plstures 8t the Auditorlum Monthly Musical at Central Baptist Church. Frederick Weld, baritone, of New York city, will render solos at the spe- cial monthly musical service at the Central Baptist church, Sunday even- ing, May 5th. . Norwich music lovers showd avail themselves of this opportunity to hear this well known artist. The pastor, Rev. Arthur F. Purkiss, has prepared a strang sermon bearing on the great world war, his subject be- ing “Are The Crucifie of Christ and The German Junkers Relatives BIG RALLY SUNDAY AT THE DAVIS THEATRE Tubbs Military Band-—Patriotic Ad- dress by a Native of Germany. The local Y. M. C. A. has arranged a rally for tomorrow (Sunday) after- noon at 3.30 o'cloc the Davis thea- tre which wil! doubtless be of intenSe interest to the citizens of Norwickh. The musical part of the rally will he unusgally attractive in that Tubbs Military band will play several fatrio- - selections and the Brass Quartette will assist in the meeting. The -address of the occasion will be delivered by G. T. Bochman, a na- tive of Germany, who will speak from the standpoint of one born in the do- main of -the kaiser. “Patriotism” will ke the subject of the address and the speaker is sure to interest tpe large number who will be present to hear him. Both men and women are invited to the meeting. The doors of the Davis will be opened at 3 o'clock AUDITORIUM, pledel? ot 1f You Have Not Bought Your Liberty Bond, Go and See “The Kaiser, The Beast of Berlin” and You Will Buy TwoFour Shows Today , 130, 3, 6.15 and 8.15. The: whole truth about the kaiser and his lust-mad millions is presented in this remarkable film in a manner that raises the biood of the spectator 1o the boiking point. “The Mad-Dog ‘of Europe” is shown up unmistabeably as the menace to all civilization, the vi- cious, man: Hun whose vain am- bition to enslave the entire world causes him to “scrap” solemn treaties, inflict the limits of “frightfulness” up- on his ecemies, and even spread un- told miseries among his own people, at the same time smothering al! humani- tarian impuises at home with the “mailed fist.” 4 The production of “The Kaiser, The -east of Berlin,” is not a picture of battlefields but it does show the in- mer life of the kaiser, his vain egotism and domineering desire for more and more power over strugeling peoples. The picture shows a series of startling events that lead up to the present war. including the incident wherein the kaiser was felled to the floor unco scious by a smash on the jaw from an enraged young Prussian officer. Inc dentally, the fate of this impulsive young officer is shown. “The withered arm” which caused the war-crazed monarch to curse his own mother also plays an important part in the telling of the drama. “The ;Kaiser, The Beast of Berlin,” has cansed such a tremendous storm of resentment among the millions of speotators who have witnessed it so far that it has been termed meri- ca’s Hymn of Hate.
