COWLER IN FIFTH Up to the Flhl Fifth, St. Louls, l{o, March —M Fulton of Rochester, Minn, knocked out Tom Cowler of New York in ihe fifth round of a scheduled eight rounfl bout here tonight. Cowler, up to the fifth round, when Fulton landed squarely on‘ his jaw with a left hook, had been the agsres- had an‘ advantage. In the first round Cowler caught Fulton squarely on the chin and the Minnesota heavyweight - was | grogzsy. Cowler followed with a blow that closed Fulton's right eve and the round ended with all the homors for the New -Yorker. Fuitbn was still suffering from his punishment in the second round but rallied ,and sent Cowler to the mat for the count of eight. The third and fourth rounds were almost even. with Cowler having an edge for his agzressiveness. Throughout Fulton had played for Cowler's jaw and early in the fifth round swung a left hook that.sent Cowler down.
