The local manufacturers closed down their mills Thursday night to remain s0 until Wednesday morning in com- pliance with the national order. The exceptions to the order are the Wn- casvillea Manufacturing Co.’s Mill at Pequot, which is Tun by water nower. The C. M. Robertson Co. are keeping up steam in their three mills with wood, keeping several of their employ- ers at work chopping it in woods. The Palmer Brothers’ Co. also have men at work chopping wood which they are using to keep up steam. Every ef- fort is being put forth to conserve the supply. of coal which is very low.
