H Miss Eva Buffington has been quite ill for about a week. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Thompson visit- ed their daughter, and her family in Warren, Mass., from Tuesday of last week until Monday. The E. B. Thompson family were the guests of Mr. Thompson's sisters, the Misses Thompson in Hampton. Thanksgiving day. Ernest B. Durkee and family made a Thanksgiving visit at the home of Mrs. Durkee's parents at Mount Hope, from Thursday, November 29th, to Sunday. December 2nd. Surprised on Eirthday. Harold Hansen had a pleasant sur- prise party on Wednesday evening of last week, cn L# sixteenth birthday. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel mstin Thankssiving they entertained guests from New Jersey, Hartford, Westerly, R. I. Norwich and New london. Fonurteen sat down to an old fashioned Thanksgiving dinner. Corporsl Willlam H. Nichols was toastmaster. The favors were small American flags and the place cards| were battieships. The feature of the sfternoon’s programme was the old- fashioned kitchen dance. Prof. Busch of New London prompted with music by H. W. Leorard of Norwich. A solo was sung by Mrs. H. M. Leonard and Mrs. Arthur Kampf of Norwich sang Dixie_to the_great enpoyment of all. Mrs Walte- Marshall of Westerly very strikingly impersonated the man who is afraid to go to_war. Walter Mar-| shall of Westerly, R. I sang an excel- lent tenor solo and Arthur Johnson of Norwich recited original _poetry, en- titled T Am Racins for Home, = Sweet Home. Eugene Busch recited _after dinner, 'm So Tired, and Mr. and Mrs. John Gray of Hartford sang The End of a Perfect Day. The guests left on the C.
