The setting was simple; Weinstein was on the e which was the cause of the ar- sument and Spector (Samuel) was on the ground, holding onto the bit agd trying to ‘take the aforesaid ho: away from Weinstein. Spector gave s reason for the move that he thought that Weinstely was taking the horse, which they own in_partner- horse for five days and now he wanted to use the horse for five days. The argument and the small crowd that Lad collected was broken up by Chief him to return to his work in Hartford. him guilty and gave him thirty days the car wag §mashed, as was the lenses h ts. The fenders were - apd whele front end was stralned or bent, the glass of the epeedometer being broken by the train. s The chauffeur received the worst in- juries. He was placed on the ground at a distance from the accident by those mear the corner and Dr. Guild was called. By this time the second car arfived on the scene of the acci- dent and jt turned out that a doctor was included in the party. After do- ipg as much as he could, the injured ffeur and the rest of the men were placed in the car and rushed to St._Joseph’s hospital and Dr. Owen O'Neil was called. The chauffeur had serious lacerations about the face and general bruise: while the other young man had gen- eral bruises. The injuries were not ug::l-ny serious, as the men were "’l back to Holyoke in an automo- bile. The corner at South Windham where the accident happened is very danger- ous, as the road turns off at an angle of about 45 degrees. and those mot used to the road usually end up against the tree just around the corner. Chief of Police Killourey raided the pool room of Raymond Comins at fhe corner of Main and Railroad streets Sunday noon and caught several young men playing a crap game. They were taken to the police station and charged as frequenters of a gambling house. They were let out under a bond of $15 each. Comins was charged with operating a _gambling house and was held under a $200 bond, which was furnished as in the other cases. Those arrested as frequenters were James Crouse. 28, of New Lon- don, Jonn Lake. 32, New York, nomas Atchise, New London Alfred George, New London, John Lynch, 22, New Haven, William Gordon, 20, New Ha- ven, John Smith. 28, Bridgeport, James Allen, 21, Waterbury.
