Time Not Extended to Change Lights. Despite the fact that the law in regard to dazzling lights on automo- biles went into effect July 1. there are still hundreds of motor vehicles i the state carrying brighter lamps than the law allows. According to the state automobile department, there seems to be a misunderstanding in regard to the law, automobile own- ers and drivers being of the opinion that they have been given a leeway to ehift the lights on their machin The department wishes to correct this and wants the automobile owners and drivers to understand that the law in regard to the lights went into_effect July 1 and that all violators of the lJaw will he forced to pay the penalty. The first offense means a fine of not less than $10 or more tnan while the second offense will cost the violator not less than $25 or more than $100. Commissioner Robbins B. Stoeckel is now on the hunt for an inspector- general and fifteen automobile in- spectors to help him enforce the new utomobile laws. The inspector- general will draw a salary of $1.500 a year and expenses but the law that provides for the appointment by the commissioner of fifteen automobile insectors does not zive the salary of the inspector: It is expected that the list of inspectors and the in- spector-general will be announc within the next twe weeks.
