The senate concurred with the house in the passage of the bill concerning the Niantic bridge, Friday afternoon. The measure was passed in the heuse in the morning. There was no opposi- tion in the house and only three votes were in opposite in the senate. Bills For Senate. Mr. Henderson of Norwich said that the governor had ample amthority under the present law and moved that the bill be indefinitely postponed. The motion was lost. Mr. Peasiey moved that the matter be tabied for consid- eration next Thursday. The mation prevailed. State Money for Preston. An act was passed whoch provides that the state tax on land taken to the town where the land is located. This act applies to the town of Pres- ton. Club Licenses. The amended act concerning club liguor licenses passed. This act was approved by the liquor and prohibi- tion interests. It was urged that the old law was not strong enough. No legitimate club will be affected by the law but it will drive key clubs out of business. Home Guard Included. An act was passed placing the Home Guard on the same plane as the Connecticut National Guard in the matter of separation allowances or state aid. Consclidation of Institutions. The act for the actual consolidation of the Connecticut colony of ecpilep- tics and the Lakevilie school for im- beciles under one management and the, Mansfield hospital was freely dis- cussed.
